Presiden PAS Abdul Hadi Awang berkata, pilihan raya umum ke-15 (PRU15) perlu diadakan segera jika mahu membina kekuatan dalam kerajaan dan mengembalikan kepercayaan rakyat terhadap kepimpinan negara.
Bagaimanapun, Ahli Parlimen Marang itu berkata, ia perlu mengambil kira keadaan dan persediaan jika mahu melaksanakan PRU.
“Memang pada dasarnya, kita bersetuju PRU diadakan apabila habis penggal tetapi kalau dalam keadaan memerlukan untuk membina kekuatan dalam kerajaan, ia perlu disegerakan.
“(Perlu) tengok keadaan dan kena ada persediaan. Kalau tiada persediaan, tidak boleh buat pilihan raya,” katanya menurut laporan Berita Harian.
Media sebelum ini melaporkan PAS menolak gesaan supaya PRU15 diadakan dalam tempoh terdekat, bukan disebabkan bimbang tewas.
Hadi dipetik berkata, saranan agar PRU15 diadakan apabila tempoh penggal Parlimen ke-14 berakhir adalah bagi membolehkan kerajaan memberi tumpuan menyelesaikan pelbagai masalah dihadapi rakyat.
Beliau menegaskan, PAS bukan gila kuasa kerana menolak PRU15 diadakan dalam tempoh terdekat.
Sementara itu, ketika ditanya cadangan sesetengah pihak dalam PAS supaya parti berkenaan menggunakan logo sendiri pada PRU15, Hadi berkata setakat ini partinya masih menggunakan lambang Perikatan Nasional (PN).
